Mathematics is said to be 'mother of all sciences'. It is the study of quantity, structure, space and change. Mathematicians seek out patterns, formulate new conjectures and establish truth by rigorous deduction from appropriately-chosen axioms and definitions. Through the use of abstraction and logical reasoning, Mathematics evolved from counting, calculation, measurement and systematic study of shapes, and motions of physical objects. Records show that practical Mathematics has been a part of human life since the inception of the written script. Rigorous arguments first appeared in Greek Mathematics, most notably in Euclid's 'Elements'. Mathematics since continued to develop around the world China in 300 BC, India in 100 AD and the Muslim world in 800 AD, until the Renaissance, when mathematical innovations interacting with new scientific discoveries led to a rapid increase in the rate of mathematical discovery, which continues to the present day.
Enjoy Mathematics ensures that the learning of Mathematics is as simple, as it is fun. Each unit contains Exercises, Projects and Worksheets to help recall what has been learnt, and test students on their understanding of the concepts explained.
