Mathematics is said to be 'mother of all sciences'. It is the study of quantity, structure, space and change. Rigorous arguments first appeared in Greek Mathematics, most notably in Euclid's 'Elements'. Mathematics since continued to develop around the world China in 300 BC, India in 100 AD and the Muslim world in 800 AD, until the Renaissance, when mathematical innovations interacting with new scientific discoveries led to a rapid increase in the rate of mathematical discovery, which continues to the present day.
